Birthday Leave
Of birthday leave and other pro-family initiatives in Asean - "We have birthday leave and special leave to allow employees to attend their childrens' school activities," said Ms Emmeline L Verzosa, of the National Commission on the role of Filipino Women. (938LIVE, 3rd Nov 2006)
I want to have my birthday leave too! It is already saddening enough to grow 1 year older and I don't want to "celebrate" this big day with my director.

Happy Birthday to you and just get out and enjoy yourself.
birthday leave? nah, disagree. esp. for us m'sians. we are already spoilt with so many holidays (and for me, working for the church i have extra 3 days hols - the church hols).
my boss always said to us that we have so many annual leaves for ourselves and if we want to celebrate our birthdays, take lah our annual leave!
btw, O2, when is it your birthday? i don't think it is around this time right when i read mave wishing you happy birthday. i thought you were just mentioning about you need birthday leave but not necessary it is your birthday.
lucia, it was not my birthday when I first posted it, but anyway, it is near the corner so a special thanks to mave for the early greeting.
Singapore has a few days less of PH when comparing to Malaysia, so I bet I still need the Birthday holiday.
